Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

Al Hota Cave in Oman is being developed as a show cave for a few years now. Originally scheduled to open in 2005 the new plan is to open in July this year. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the walkway with iron railings and the stairs are complete. The cave is illuminated by coloured electric lights. Even the track for the visitor train has already been laid. Still missing is the train with a capacity of 36 passengers, which will be installed in May. The Visitor Centre was built in front of the cave, a 2-storey reinforced carbon-carbon (RCC) structure.
